Understanding Cold Email Campaigns

A cold email campaign is an automated outreach sequence sent to prospects who haven't previously interacted with your business. Unlike newsletters or marketing emails, cold emails are personalized, one-to-one communications designed to start a business conversation.

A typical campaign workflow in DataSend.ai:

1. Create a campaign and name it
2. Build your email sequence (1-5+ steps with delays between them)
3. Import leads (from the Dashboard database, Pipeline, or CSV upload)
4. Select which email accounts to send from
5. Configure the sending schedule and daily limits
6. Activate the campaign
7. Monitor performance in analytics
8. Handle replies in Unibox

Campaign List

The campaigns page (/campaigns) shows all campaigns in a list view:

• Campaign name with status badge: Draft (gray), Active (green), Paused (amber), Completed (blue)
• Key metrics at a glance: sent count, reply count, bounce count
• Quick actions: pause/resume, duplicate, delete
• Status filter tabs: All, Draft, Active, Paused, Completed
• Campaign-level lead status filter

Campaign Lifecycle:

• Draft — newly created, not yet sending. Use this time to build sequences, import leads, and configure settings.
• Active — the campaign is live and sending emails according to the schedule. Leads progress through sequence steps automatically.
• Paused — sending is temporarily stopped. Leads retain their current position in the sequence. Resume to continue from where it left off.
• Completed — all leads have been processed through the sequence. No more emails will be sent.

Creating a New Campaign

Click the "Create Campaign" button to start. You'll be taken to the campaign detail page in Draft status. From here you can:

1. Set the campaign name (Settings tab)
2. Write your email sequence (Sequences tab)
3. Import your leads (Leads tab)
4. Configure sending settings (Settings tab)
5. When ready, activate the campaign
